Welcome to www.wandering1500.co.uk. This website is dedicated to the sole surviving B12 steam locomotive, owned by the M&GN Joint Railway Society and based at the North Norfolk Railway. As well as news on 61572's current status, this site also tells the history of this popular class of locomotive, designed to work express trains from (London) Liverpool Street to Norwich and many of East Anglia's popular coastal resorts. Wandering 1500 was chosen as the name of this site to commemorate the "Wandering 1500" railtour. A 260 mile trip hauled by 61572 in 1963. Little did people realise, it would be another 32 years before the (now unique, inside cylinder 4-6-0) locomotive was to steam again. Links to navigate this site can be found above, including picture galleys, latest news and information about 61572, and the loco's "Wandering 1500 Club". Special thanks must go to the following people; Ben Fraser, Steve Allen, Michael Wild, Peter Boggis and Richard Marsden. Because without their help this site wouldn't have been possible.
